Samuel Ballard Biography

Raised in Francisville and later the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Samuel Ballard, is currently a resident of Mount Laurel, NJ.  Educated in the Philadelphia school system he attended Thaddeus Stevens Elementary, Studdart Fleisher and William Penn High School where he was a standout football player.

After graduating from William Penn High School in 1979 Sam continued his education by accepting a scholarship to play football at Fairmont State College in Fairmont, West Virginia.  Realizing that football was giving him an opportunity to secure his future by providing him an education, he studied hard and graduated in 1984 with a BS in Business.

Armed with his degree and fresh with enthusiasm to conquer the business world, Sam began his career with Public Storage Company as a Construction Estimator. A year later he switched departments within the company and joined the management team as an area manager.  The next year Sam was then promoted to the position of district manager.  His climb up the corporate ladder within the ranks of Public Storage were hard earned and his efforts were quickly rewarded.  He subsequently became a regional manager, a divisional manager and then a Senior Divisional Vice President.  While at Public Storage Sam pursued his entrepreneurial interest and began a partnership that led to the formation of Rap Snacks, Incorporated.  He is also the owner and president of Ballard Properties, LLC, which is a property management business that buys and rents homes throughout the city of Philadelphia.  After 20 years of employment with Public Storage he retired from the corporate world at the tender age of 42.

A strong supporter of the community, Sam has sponsored numerous teams with the Francisville Basketball Association and makes several contributions each year to church and other civic organizations.  He also takes the time to coach his son’s youth football team, little league baseball team as well as his basketball team.

Sam Ballard is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.  Sam is currently married with children.
